1 Coordinator, Teaching and Learning (75% re-assignment with a 2-year term)

2 CELT Teaching Fellows (2 course release per annum with a 2-year term)

1 Open Educational Resource Grant Coordinator (2 course release per annum with a 2-year term)

Sustainability in the Curriculum

Introduction to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and the New SoTL Scholars Grant Program

If you’re interested in engaging in SoTL research but don’t know where to start, come out and learn about a new grant program that will support you through the development of a SoTL project from beginning (crafting a research question) to end (disseminating findings)—and all that happens in between.  Register here.

Liberating Structures: 1/2 Day Workshop

May 21, 1-4 p.m., OL 127

Join Brian and Catharine and try out some new (to us) structures. During this workshop we will have some serious fun learning from each other and finding new ways to engage and empower all voices.  Register here.

Preparing for Promotion and Tenure

June 3 & 4, 8:30-4:30 p.m., HL 269

Featuring speakers from across campus, this workshop series is designed to help faculty understand the process of applying for tenure and/ or promotion at TRU, construct a CV and teaching dossier that accurately describes positions, contributions and achievements, and receive guidance on how to plan their academic career.  Open to everyone! Awards and Opportunities

CELT Teaching Fellowship

The CELT Teaching Fellowship provides an educational leadership opportunity for faculty members. They receive partial course release from their departments to work on special projects related to the enhancement of teaching and learning and in support of the Academic Plan. Fellowship period is June 1, 2019- April 30, 2020. Application deadline is May 15, 2019. Learn more here.

Awards for Excellence in Open Education

The Awards for Excellence in Open Education recognize outstanding contributions to the open education movement in British Columbia. These contributions may include significant leadership, OER development, research, or advocacy by faculty, students, support staff, or administrators at post-secondary institutions in B.C. or others that support the post-secondary system in B.C. 3M National Teaching Fellowship

In 1986, the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada partnered to recognize exceptional contributions to teaching and learning in Canadian post-secondary education. The community of 3M National Teaching Fellows embodies the highest ideals of teaching excellence and scholarship with a commitment to encourage and support the educational experience of every learner.

Up to ten Fellowships are selected annually. We encourage faculty interested in applying for the 3MNTF to contact us early so we can help you prepare a strong nomination package prior to the September deadline.
