Exciting News about Fall 2021

Dear TRU Students,

I am very excited to share that we can welcome you back to campus this fall!

Today, BC’s Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry gave the go-ahead to prepare for a full return to on-campus education this September. While we plan for a safe learning environment, you can also begin envisioning what your learning journey looks like come September.

Building on the successful planning process from last summer, BC post-secondary institutions will again work with Dr. Henry to update the Go Forward Guidelines that will support a safe return for everyone this fall.

A return to campus may look different for international students currently studying abroad, but this will become clearer in the near future. I can assure our international students that our plan will consider how to best support you if you are not yet able to return.

This positive news comes after a long and challenging year. I appreciate that it likely results in many questions. While we cannot answer all questions at this early stage of planning, we are committed to keeping you informed. Please regularly check our Return to Campus webpage which will be updated as we have more information.

For more information, please see the letter from the Provincial Health Officer to universities and colleges, as well as a statement from the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training issued today.

Thank you for your patience, perseverance and adaptability. I look forward to the return of the on-campus energy, having you as part of our in-person community and for TRU being part of your academic journey.
