We are thrilled to welcome new and returning members to the CELT team!

Kara Loy has joined us as our new CELT Associate Director. Coming from the University of Saskatchewan, Kara brings a wealth of experience with respect to campus-wide planning and high-impact practices.

Karen Densky and Bala Nikku are joining as 2019-2020 CELT Teaching Fellows. We are delighted to enlist their expertise and talents to support learning at TRU.    

Susan Lidster is back as the coordinator of our K-16 Mind the Gap Project, and Nancy Carson as the coordinator of the Focus on First Year initiative. Please let us know if you would like to get involved!

Workshops, Courses and Events

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Retreat

All faculty are welcome to come and spend two days with CELT experts while we support you through the planning and development of a SoTL project from beginning to end. We’ll concretely help you with the beginning stages, such as formulating your research question and planning your data collection methods.

Awards and Opportunities

3M National Teaching Fellowship

The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada have partnered since 1986 to recognize exceptional contributions to teaching and learning in Canadian post-secondary education. The community of 3M National Teaching Fellows (3MNTF) embodies the highest ideals of teaching excellence and scholarship with a commitment to encourage and support the educational experience of every learner.

Nationally, up to ten fellowships are selected annually. Faculty interested in applying for the 3MNTF to contact CELT for support in preparing a strong nomination package prior to the September deadline. Awards for Excellence in Open Education

The Awards for Excellence in Open Education recognize outstanding contributions to the open education movement in British Columbia. These contributions may include significant leadership, Open Educational Resource development, research, or advocacy by faculty, students, support staff, or administrators at post-secondary institutions in B.C. or others that support the post-secondary system in B.C.
