Film details
Climate change is here. As heat domes, atmospheric rivers and wildfires reshape our world, how do we protect what matters most? Emergence: Women in the Storm goes beyond the headlines to explore how women are navigating climate emergencies. Intimate and beautifully crafted, the film offers insights on how to live in this new reality, finding ways to carry on without giving up. Explore the realities of climate change through the perspectives of women on the front lines.
The screening and the post-screening discussion are supported by a grant from the Wawanesa Insurance Wildfire Community Resilience Fund and TRU’s Community and Cultural Mapping Research Group. Their unique hot topic fire awareness initiative is conducting a cultural mapping of the FireSmart program and community resilience to wildfires. The initiative is co-designed and co-delivered by community and academic partners including the Kamloops Museum and Archives, the Kamloops Art Gallery, United Way and the City of Kamloops.
