Research presentation: New perspectives and critical insights from Indigenous peoples’ research

Emily Salmon and Matt Murphy from University of Victoria will share their recent research, “New perspectives and critical insights from Indigenous peoples’ research: A systematic review of Indigenous management and organization literature.”

In it, they synthesize over 90 years of research and integrate it into themes and disciplines that will help scholars and teachers alike in their efforts to bring Indigenous perspectives into their work.

Salmon will also share her recent dissertation research, “Beyond smoke and mirrors: The effect of stakeholder governance mechanisms on community value capture, on governance mechanisms in Indigenous communities.”

Specifically, it explores the use of Community Benefit Agreements (CBAs) and the mixed results they actually create in terms of value creation and destruction.
