Inspiring club success

April 14, 2023

TRU Gaglardi Student Ambassador and TRU HR Club President Patricia De Siqueira

TRU HR Club President Patricia De Siqueira has been instrumental in the club’s success. After being asked to take the lead a year ago, Siqueira has gone all out to ensure that the club flourishes. Today, the club has more than 50 members, a new executive team and a plethora of events in store for students.

“If students feel that they will benefit from an event, only then will they attend an event,” she says.

With this approach in mind, Siqueira and her team are always looking for ways to engage students in the club. Events like the HR Case Competition, that challenge students’ skills, and the CPHR Open House, that help students to stay up-to-date with the market, are just two examples of how the club has been encouraging student engagement.

“Most of our events focus on connecting students with the industry and helping them grow both professionally and personally,” she says.

Club members can expect commitment and proactiveness, as those are priorities Siqueira focuses on.

“Our club has always preferred quality over quantity. We like people who show up for events. We want members who take the initiative to help with events.”
