Thompson Rivers University

Committed to community

October 12, 2018

Thompson Rivers University’s sixth annual report on research, Committed to Community, is a showcase of the world-class research taking place right at our front door.

In recent years TRU has signed memorandums of understanding with the United Way – Thompson, Nicola, Cariboo, and more recently with the City of Kamloops. These agreements streamline the process by which complimentary research partnerships can take place, allowing our experts to address issues of common concern.

The report highlights the ground-breaking work in the sciences, the humanities, the social sciences, law, nursing, education, and business, and pays special attention to the growing contributions of our researchers and their students in community-driven projects.

“This annual report is offered as a reflection on and a celebration of the last 12 months — on how the research efforts and accomplishments of our faculty, students and community research partners are making a difference locally, regionally, nationally and globally,” said Dr. Will Garrett-Petts, Associate Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies.
