Finding TRU love at TRU

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is back again. Over the years, many couples have found love at TRU and in the spirit of St. Valentine, here are just a few of the many stories of TRU love.

Sarah and BrianSarah & Brian Smith
Sarah and Brian are a true love and basketball story. They met while playing for the WolfPack varsity teams in 2004 and started dating on Valentine’s Day 2005. The couple married in 2012 and is expecting their first child this June. They live and work in Langley and co-coach junior girls basketball at Brookswood Secondary School.

 

Matt and JennMatthew and Jennifer Tarzwell
Matthew and Jenn met while working at TRU. He was an IT specialist and she was working in human resources. After a few campus coffee dates, there was no looking back. Married in 2013, they are now the proud parents of two boys, Jackson and Parker.

 

Tay and BrettTaiysa Worsfold and Brett Rouault
Taiysa and Brett are another sport-fuelled romance, meeting on the basketball court but intersecting in the classroom. The duo, who were both biology majors, finished their science degrees and recently wrote the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Both are hoping to get into medical school this fall. The future is bright for this power couple.

 

Lindsay and ZacZac and Lindsay Rasmussen
Zac and Lindsay met at a Halloween party while attending TRU. The costumes could not disguise their instant connection. The couple dated for five years before getting married in the spring of 2015. Zac, a TRU business alumnus, works for Western Roofing while Lindsay is finishing her Bachelor of Education.

 

Christopher and MelissaChristopher and Melissa Seguin
VP of Advancement Christopher Seguin and wife Melissa met while volunteering for the TRU Alumni & Friends board. There is nothing like getting involved in the community to bring people together. Christopher and Melissa married in 2014 and have a one-year-old son named Logan, who keeps them on their toes.

 

Dustin and HeatherDustin and Heather McIntyre
Dustin was introduced to Heather while attending TRU. They had an instant connection and despite a long-distance relationship to start, they persevered. The couple married in 2013 and recently adopted a puppy named Opie. Dustin works as a sponsorship coordinator at TRU while Heather completes her Bachelor of Health Sciences.
