Nikita McCulloch, NorKam Secondary, Kamloops

Meet Nikita McCulloch. The NorKam Secondary graduate is one of five recipients of the 2015 TRU Ambassador’s Entrance Scholarship and begins her Bachelor of Science this September.

“While I have a general sense of the post-secondary route I would like to travel, I also know that as exciting opportunities and new areas of study arise, I will find my specific passion and excel,” said McCulloch.

Valued at $22,000, the award recognizes documented exemplary leadership and community service, combined with strong academic performance.

Academic accomplishments: consistently on the Principal’s List and achieving a 4.0 grade-point-average.

Service to her school: being an active member of the Leadership Group, an active member of Student Voice, an active member of the Green Team and involvement in school spirit activities, fundraising and global initiatives.

Service to her community: volunteering with several agencies and companies, including Kamlops Immigrant Services (weekly after-school support to newly immigrated children and youth), Let’s Move Studio, and raising money for breast cancer programs through Shopper’s Drug Mart.

“As exciting opportunities and new areas of study arise, I will find my specific passion and excel.”
