International Women’s Day March 8

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is choose to challenge. The TRU faculty members below have expertise in women who are challenging the world in their own ways. They are available for media interviews.
Rochelle Stevenson can speak about intimate partner violence, including its connection to animal cruelty. She can also speak to the amazing work that domestic violence shelters are doing in addressing access barriers (mainly related to pets) and what needs to be done.

Joyce O’Mahony is studying the use of community-based action research to support Syrian refugee mothers in the resettlement period. She can also discuss the role of Syrian refugee peer research assistants in her study, which is ongoing.
