This research revisits several published archaeological predictive modeling case studies and uses an extensive dataset of Iron Age Irish ringfort settlements.
The work aims to enhance these studies through techniques rooted in machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) decision-making, using TensorFlow neural networks as predictive models.
The methods result in information that can help identify to what extent machine learning and AI-based techniques may offer improved site location modeling in contrast with traditional archeological methodologies.
