Beginning on ‘Movember’ 1st men across Canada and around the world vow to not shave their moustaches for the entire month to raise funds and spread awareness about men’s health, particularly prostate cancer. What began as a couple Australian dudes hanging out in an Adelaide pub, the group got the idea of growing out their mustaches to raise money for a charity and now 13 years later, the campaign has raised $174 million world-wide.

Because moustache growing is limited to dudes (Mo Bros), women (Mo Sistas) play a vital role in the success of Movember by raising funds and awareness and, most importantly, encouraging the men in their lives to be aware and take care of their health.
No matter the country or city, Movember will continue to work to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, and to act on that knowledge, thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.
