Thompson Rivers University has joined dozens of other legal organizations and agencies to support Access to Justice BC’s Triple Aim goal.
On June 12, Christine Bovis-Cnossen, TRU Provost and Vice-President Academic, signed the pledge, joining the province’s chief justice, attorney general and more than 45 other justice-sector organizations.
The Access to Justice Triple Aim is a goal requiring three interrelated elements: improving population access to justice, improving the user experience of access to justice, and improving costs (as they relate to access to justice).
By endorsing the triple aim, signatories are committing to the goal of improving access to justice in BC and taking action to attain it. Access to justice is about helping people prevent, manage and solve their legal problems, not just about going to court.
“While there are three different elements to the Triple Aim, the end goal is one and the same: improve access to justice for all British Columbians. This is something that has been a key priority for our government from day one, and we are excited to be a part of this joint commitment across the justice sector. I’m proud that so many stakeholders have come together to focus on improving the experience of those who turn to the justice system, ensuring that services work for the people who need them,” said BC Attorney General David Eby.
