These faculty members can speak to issues related to COVID-19 in their specific areas:

Dr. Laura Doan is an assistant professor in early childhood education. Her field of interest is in child resilience and mentoring/retention of early childhood educators.

Dr. Ehsan Latif is a professor of economics with an interest in the socio-economic determinants of health. He can discuss the state of the Canadian economy as COVID-19 impacts are being felt.

Dr. Michael Mehta, professor of geography and environmental studies. He can address questions around air quality and health, particularly as they related to COVID-19 and the health impacts of the pandemic.

Dr. Jonathan Van Hamme, associate professor of microbiology. He is studying sewage from the City of Kamloops to monitor for the genetic material shed by the COVID-19 virus. His research is supported by a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Alliance Grant, and he is working with the City of Kamloops and engineers at Urban Systems, and fellow TRU microbiologist Dr. Eric Bottos.
