EDI Lecture Series – Beyond the Labels: Understanding Neurodiversity

Join the Thompson Rivers University Students’ Union (TRUSU) for the 2026 EDI Lecture Series featuring Kelly Bron Johnson, an autistic and hard-of-hearing self-advocate who draws on both professional expertise and lived experience to explore neurodiversity in today’s society.

Through personal stories, research, and practical examples, Kelly will explore what neurodiversity is, challenge common misconceptions and discuss barriers neurodivergent people continue to encounter in schools, workplaces and everyday life.

Attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of neurodiversity and practical ways to contribute to more inclusive and accommodating communities.

This free event is open to everyone.

In-person seating is limited and registration is required.

A virtual participation option is also available for those unable to attend in person.
