Teams of human resources students — including a group from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) — faced challenges from real-life situations at this year’s HRC West Case Competition at Bow Valley College in Calgary.
The competition, held March 3 and 4, saw 16 teams from Western Canada put their classroom learning into practice. The event was organized by two Chartered Professionals in Human Resources organizations: CPHR Alberta and CPHR BC and Yukon
“It was a real honour to represent TRU at the competition! I had a great time with my team in Calgary, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I have not only learned a lot but also improved my confidence and critical thinking,” says TRU student Patricia De Siqueira.
“I am immensely proud of my team and we could not have made it without our coach, Dr. Scott Rankin, who guided us through this journey. To all students interested in participating in the competition next year, please connect with the HR Club to get to know more details. If you are passionate about human resources, you will not be disappointed.”
