Grant Gives European Fire Ant Research a Boost

The European Fire Ant is invasive, aggressive and a prolific breeder, with colonies popping up throughout the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island.

Now, with the help of a $100,000 one-year grant from The BC Inter-Ministry Invasive Species Working Group, TRU researcher Dr. Robert Higgins and his team is hard at work developing methods to control the insect.
