Dear Colleagues,

We do hope that this semester is progressing well for all of you and that you are looking forward to the forthcoming festive season break and the arrival of 2017.

As part of our Open Governance initiative, Matt Milovick and I would like to invite you to attend the second Town Hall, this time focusing on the development of the proposed budget for the 17/18 fiscal year before it is presented to Senate and the Board of Governors.

After a short presentation from Matt on the budget context, we will invite our audience (present and online) to engage in a discussion addressing the budgetary challenges and opportunities facing the university. This will serve to augment the feedback received from the Budget Committee of Senate and Senate on the proposed budget.

Please join us in the Mountain Room on Tuesday, January 10th; we will be serving lunch at 12 p.m. and getting the conversation underway from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

If you can’t make it to the event, you can watch the live broadcast on TRU’s Livestream channel and engage in the discussion there.

As with the first Town Hall, the Budget Town Hall meeting will be live-streamed and notes will be taken which will be shared with the Board, Senate, the Planning Council of Open Learning, the TRUSU Board of Directors and every Faculty Council.

The president and vice-presidents continue to be committed to working with students, faculty and staff to make TRU a great place to study and work.
