The Faculty of Education and Social Work’s Fall 2017 Research Provocations seminar series kicked off on October 4th with a presentation by Jason Brown of the English as a Second Language Department. Brown’s talk, titled Willingness to communicate: Inspiring student to participate with purpose, explored whether willingness to communicate leads to language proficiency gains for individuals studying a new language. The ten-week, interdisciplinary Research Provocations series runs every Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in AE 366 and is open to all members of the TRU community; the full program can be viewed here.
