Dear Colleagues,
Last year, our brand launch campaign encouraged students across Canada to “Find their TRU”—to seek, find and live their full potential within an educational community dedicated to supporting them all the way: Thompson Rivers University. That campaign helped boost awareness of TRU, nationwide.
Now, we are building on this solid foundation with an exciting new initiative that is transforming how we connect and communicate with students.
It’s called YourPath. Commonly referred to as a customer relationship management system, YourPath is a TRU-customized Student Communication System (SCS) that will enable us to start a dialogue with future students even before they decide to attend TRU. The YourPath SCS allows us to quickly and automatically respond to questions, provide interesting and relevant information about TRU and its programs, convey the value of experiential learning opportunities, explain how our Open Learning and campus options complement each other, clarify the unfamiliar processes of registration and stay with students through the sometimes daunting realities of being a university student… from where to live, to how to pay for it all.
And that’s just the start. YourPath’s capabilities are significant and will eventually expand to support not only recruitment but also student engagement, student retention, and alumni affinity.
It took a lot of good work by a lot of good people to get the YourPath SCS ready for our 2016/17 recruitment cycle. I’d like to thank our partners in Marketing and Communications, IT Services, TRU World and Open Learning for working with us for almost a year to get YourPath off the ground and into action.
Unless you work in Enrolment Services, chances are the SCS will have little or no impact on your day-to-day work—but if you’d like to learn more about it, visit our OneTRU intranet site for frequently asked questions.
I wish you a very successful 2016/17 academic year.
