The following is an open invitation from TRU Recreation coordinator Pina Russo, inviting everyone in the TRU community to get involved in the free fitness classes offered Monday through Friday through the Winter Semester.

All classes take place in the TRU Gym, located beside the Science building.

TRU! … Happy 2014! … TRU Recreation has a great line up of fitness/yoga classes at an arm reach, so get involved! …

Classes are taken at your own fitness level and before you know it improvements in your cardio and muscular strength will be noted!

Our fitness and yoga instructors are professional and will assist you with your health and wellness goals.

Ask questions to get answers!

There is no better way to build a sense of community other than interacting with your peers and our students in an energetic, non-intimating fitness/health environment.

Class descriptions

Boot Camp/Yoga Fusion:
A Combination Class Featuring Interval Training and Yoga!

Express “HITT”
Start your morning with this 40 minute high intensity Interval class that will provide you with a mix of strength and Cardio. You will leave feeling energized and ready to tackle the day. Suitable for all ages and levels.

Circuit
A 40 minute lunch hour workout completed with time to spare. This circuit class offers an energetic and fun atmosphere combining Strength and Cardio exercises. A variety of Fitness equipment will be used: Bosu Balls, Stability Balls, Ab Rollers, Medicine Balls and much more. Suitable for all ages and levels.

Boot Camp
You don’t want to miss this fun and interactive class!! Diverse equipment like sandbags, tires, pull up bars, and bosu ball will be used. This one hour class will provide a full body workout of strength and cardio while listening to some great music!! Suitable for all ages and levels

High NRG!
Motivate and challenge yourself to this higher intensity class. It will rev up your metabolism and burn those extra calories.

Flex Express
Show off your guns! In no time at all, take notice to your muscles being tightly toned.

Hatha Yoga
A series of poses that combine flexibility, strength, power, and balance. It focuses on physical and mental discipline thus improving flexibility, strength & endurance along with relaxation. Bring your Yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing. Great for all levels of fitness (even Beginners).

Zumba
Latin inspired, high energy, aerobic fun. Co-ordination is not needed. Ditch the workout, join the party!

Low Impact Fitness
Perfect for those with muscle and joint concerns, or for the beginner exerciser. Improve your cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, strength, and flexibility without the stress on the joints.
