The Thompson Rivers University alumni office hosted a successful alumni network event at Mt. Royal University on Nov. 17, 2012 for those living in the Calgary area.

The purpose of the event was to build a network of alumni from the region and to help foster the relationship between TRU grads and the university.

“I thought the event was a tremendous start to establishing greater connectivity with alumni in Calgary and area,” said James McCreath, 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award winner. “Hopefully we can turn this into an annual event each fall.”

The inaugural event was host to approximately 30 participants with alumni ranging from science, journalism, business, tourism, arts and trade graduates.

“We were extremely happy with the turn-out and we are looking forward to keeping the momentum strong to draw even more alumni to next year’s event,” said Arlene Olynyk, alumni officer.
