Tk’emlups te Secwepemc Chief Shane Gottfriedson raised a special flag representing the Secwepemc People on Dec. 23, 2013.

The flag, located at the main entrance to TRU, is the one immediately behind him and recognizes TRU being on the traditional land of the Secwepemc People.

The flagraising follows the memorandum of understanding signed last week between TRU and Tk’emlups te Secwepemc.

Gottfriedson is hopeful the relationship with TRU, “will continue to grow for many moons to come. For me, this was a happy and proud moment.”
