The annual EDI conference, U-B-U (translation: you be you) is an exploration of how our unconscious desire for sameness creates tensions for individuals, groups and institutions.
Join TRU’s Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism (EDI-AR) for this opportunity to understand the nuances of the spoken and the unspoken, the actions and inactions, the truth and the fallacy associated with the attributions we may unknowingly ascribe to people.
Keynote speakers and panelists will guide participants through insights, experiences and strategies for fostering environments where authenticity thrives. As our unconscious biases draw us toward sameness, U-B-U challenges participants to explore the power of authenticity in our professional and personal lives.
The conference includes ample networking opportunities and a dynamic performance by Kamloops drag artist Miss Mousse.
Admission is free for TRU students, faculty and staff. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, May 7.
