This September, Thompson Rivers University embarked on a comprehensive consultation with the many communities it serves– internal and external, international and local. This consultation will gather input from multiple sources, representing thousands of voices. It will guide the establishment of key strategic priorities for TRU for the next five years.
On Wednesday, Oct. 15, the first major milestone in the consultation was launched.
The first of two public surveys that will be open to the public as well as the TRU community is available online at tru.ca/strategic priorities. This survey will present priorities taken from existing TRU planning documents, including the TRU Government Mandate, the 2007-2012 Strategic Plan, TRU Mission Statement, and the TRU Academic Plan. Survey participants will be asked to provide input about where TRU should allocate resources over the next five years, from among these priorities.
On October 28, 2013, TRU will conduct a second survey asking survey participants to rank the top 5 priorities chosen from the list above. Results from both surveys will be available on the Strategic Priorities website.
The surveys will be supplemented with consultations throughout the period of consultation, which will continue until December, 2013. Consultation will occur face to face, at a distance and through a blend of both – exactly like TRU programs.
