Dr. Joel Wood graduated from the University of Guelph with a Ph.D. in 2011. His areas of interest are Environmental Economics, Natural Resource Economics, Cost-Benefit analysis, Development Economics and Environmental Policy. Dr. Wood worked at the Fraser Institute as a Senior Research Economist at the Centre for Environmental studies from 2010-2013. Dr. Wood was promoted to Associate Director in 2014 before coming to TRU. He has published two papers in top ranked journals Energy Economics and the journal Environment and Resource Economics. He has a research under review in Papers in Regional Science and a number of other working papers. Dr. Wood has presented his research in academic conferences. He also informs the community on important economic issues through numerous media publications, interviews and appearances including the Toronto Sun, Vancouver Sun, National Post, CBC Vancouver, and CTV Alberta. Finally, Dr. Joel Wood comes across as a potential excellent teacher as indicated from some of the student comments:
