Dr. Peter Tsigaris will be offering a new course on the economics of climate change. The course considers efficiency, externalities, public good issues asssociate with climate change well as environmental policy instruments. The course deals with the question on inter-temporal decisions and uncertainties about the impacts of climate change. The costs of mitigation and adaptation to climate change will also be explored. Finally, students will be exposed to the problems of international cooperation analyzing the most prominent climate policy approaches. Discussion of current policy initiatives and newspaper reports will complement the course.
Two years ago when the course was offered again all of his students presented posters on different topics at the Thompson Rivers University Undergraduate Research Conference.
