KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is thrilled by the announcement from BC’s Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry that we are able to welcome students back to campus this coming fall.
Dr. Henry has given all of BC’s public universities and colleges the go ahead to prepare for a full return to on-campus education this September. Her statement also advised that a return to in-person instruction can be done safely for all students, staff and faculty.
“This news is very positive and comes after a long and challenging year. We are eager to safely return to campus however, our priority is the safety of students, faculty and staff,” said TRU President and Vice-Chancellor Brett Fairbairn.
Fairbairn said he understands that many will likely have many questions and while we don’t have all of the answers now, TRU is committed to keeping students, faculty and staff informed.
The university encourages everyone to regularly check their Return to Campus web page which will be updated as we have more information.
Fairbairn said the TRU community has been exceptionally patient and adaptable through the COVID-19 pandemic. “We are thankful to students who have chosen TRU for their academic journey and look forward to the return of the on-campus energy.”
