Proving there’s no need to feel stumped about how to kick off the holiday season, a group of faculty and staff from the Faculty of Education and Social Work were willing to branch out and get sappy with 150 other members of the TRU community, donning Christmas tree costumes to become a walking forest for TRU’s float in the 2017 Santa Claus Parade. Showing that their holiday spirit is evergreen, the enthusiastic and brightly-adorned group made their way down Victoria Street as part of the annual event, which chose Canada 150+ as its theme this year; TRU’s participants were encouraged to decorate their costumes to represent what Canada means to them. A tree-mendous time was had by all; here’s hoping this event takes root and becomes an annual treedition!
