Dear TRU Community,
You are invited to take part in the Fall Convocation ceremony scheduled for Friday, Oct. 14 at 10:00 a.m. (please note new time) in the Fieldhouse, Tournament Capital Centre.
Stage Seating
It is meaningful to students when faculty, staff and administrators from their program areas are on the stage to show support for the accomplishments of graduates. Please register for stage seating (which includes the procession) by completing the online form by Friday, October 7th.
Gowning Students and Ushering
We usually have a great team of gowners and ushers who like to interact with graduating students on their special day. Gowning and ushering is an opportunity for faculty and staff to give farewell wishes to students who are leaving our university for further study or new careers. Please sign up by completing the online form.
Spouse or Child Convocating?
If your spouse or child is crossing the stage during the fall ceremony, you have the option of joining him or her on the stage to offer congratulations. Please contact Advancement if you would like to offer congratulations and we will be pleased to give you direction.
Live-streaming and Photography
Staff in our Media Services department record the ceremony and broadcast it live on TRU’s Livestream site. The link is advertised on the TRU homepage on the day of the ceremony. We have received positive feedback from friends and family who could not attend the ceremony but enjoyed watching it live over the Internet. Please pass this information on to students and families who you think would like to watch online.
Reception
Immediately after the ceremony, you are welcome to join the stage party in congratulating the graduates at the reception, also in the Fieldhouse, Tournament Capital Centre.
Please contact us in the Advancement Office if you have questions pertaining to Convocation—we would be pleased to hear from you.
