This year, the TRU Chemistry Biochemistry Club has made it a strategic priority to advance green chemistry and sustainable science at TRU and they are doing just that with three initiatives targeted to meet this goal.
- They are headed to the Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference in Portland, Oregon in sustainable style thanks in part to the hybrid vehicle that the TRU Environment and Sustainability Office has provided.
- Find out more about the biggest green chemistry conference on the planet: http://www.gcande.org/.
- Kile McKenna (club member) was the recipient of a $5000 student sustainability award last June to complete a project designing a sustainability metric system for evaluating chemistry lab experiments from the perspective of green chemistry.

- The club has made it a goal to work with other clubs on campus to hold a sustainability related conference next year.
