A new brand was revealed to a group of approximately 500 students, faculty, staff and community members today. The event showcased a brand strategy, launch campaign, comprehensive visual identity and tagline.
“What an amazing day and it’s been a long time in the making,” said TRU President and Vice-chancellor, Alan Shaver. “We truly have something to celebrate, and it’s great to see so many people excited by the new brand.”
The event was held in Old Main on Student Street and celebrated with free Find Your TRU reusable coffee mugs, coffee, hot chocolate, and treats for everyone.
“The event surpassed my expectations and I am absolutely thrilled with the turn-out. It was inspiring to see that many people happy, positive and ready to embrace the new brand,” said Jennifer Read, director of marketing and communications for Open Learning.
During the launch, five TRU Potential Awards were announced. The entrance awards are open to anyone who plans to study at TRU on campus, through Open Learning, or both. Five new students will each receive $4,000 to help them find their TRU potential.
“The TRU Students’ Union is proud to endorse the Find Your TRU brand strategy,” said TRUSU President, Melissa Gordon. “We believe that the Find Your TRU brand perfectly encapsulates what is great about being a student at Thompson Rivers University, and captures what TRU promises and strives to be.”
