On Friday, March 27th, the TRU Student Human Resource Management Club will host the 2015 TRU HRM Conference and Case Competition at TRU’s Kamloops campus.
The conference is an excellent opportunity for business professionals and students to come together to connect and discuss current and relevant HR topics and news.
The theme of the conference is Advancing the HR Profession and is open to students, HR professionals and small business professionals.
Conference attendees will be given the opportunity to attend two of five workshops:
- Everyone communicates. Few connect.
- Employment law that all managers need to know
- The employment contract need-to-knows
- Deciding between employees vs. contractors
- The importance of HR Metrics
For those students participating in the case competition, the event is an opportunity to present their case in front of an audience of professionals. The case competition is a learning opportunity that goes above and beyond the classroom experience in that it provides students with an opportunity to connect with professionals and work on real scenarios that can be referenced in classes and in future careers.
The event will run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm in the Mountain Room of the Campus Activity Centre. Registration is $10 for students and $35 for non-students.
