A graduate of McGill University, Jennifer Read spent the first several years of her career in her hometown Toronto working in advertising agencies for large clients such as Dell, Intel, Rogers and Sprint.Her natural business sense led her to move client-side to manage the marketing team at Direct Energy Natural Gas and Home Services. Teaching was the alternate path she would have taken had she not followed her passion for marketing so her next move, joining the team in Kamloops at Thompson Rivers University as the Director of Marketing and Communications for their online division, was the perfect marriage of the two professions.
Since joining TRU in 2007 she re-established the Open Learning brand and turned around declining enrollment numbers to reach record highs. As a marketing strategist she brings business acumen to the table and as a creative thinker she brings inspiration to the TRU vision. We are very excited to have Jennifer as part of the TRU Alumni & Friends Board, and look forward to seeing her creative mind at work.
