Your input please: Strategic Sustainability Plan

May 10, 2014

The following is a news release from TRU’s department of Environment and Sustainability, announcing the ways to contribute during the consultation process for its upcoming Strategic Sustainability Plan (SSP).

We want you to share your insight, vision, expertise and values regarding sustainability on campus.

During June and July the TRU Office of Environment and Sustainability will engage with members of the TRU community asking for their input for the Strategic Sustainability Plan (SSP).

The SSP will provide a framework to align TRU’s overarching strategic priority of “increasing sustainability” with divisional and departmental resources.

Developing a plan with far-reaching community insight, expertise and values will be integral to building a robust plan.

There will be four main opportunities for the community to provide input into the eighteen-theme areas that make up the four sections of the plan: Operations, Planning, Advocacy, Engagement, Learning, and Administration.

Town-Hall Visioning Session
June 19 from 11:30am to 1:30pm in the CAC Mountain Room. Lunch will be served and RSVPs are required by emailing sustain@tru.ca

Online Survey
For those unable to attend the Visioning Session, please complete the online survey. One person will win an iPad Mini.

Art/Photo Contest
What does a sustainable future at TRU mean to you? Share your vision by submitting an image, video or drawing that represents what a “desired future” in one of the 18 CSAP theme areas looks like. Selected entries will be included throughout the plan and a scholarship will be awarded for the cover selection. Contest launches on June 19 on the TRU Sustain Facebook page.

Share your thoughts on the future of sustainability via: letter, e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or video.
