The following is an invitation to sign up for the TRU Alert Emergency Notification System and to take part in a test on Dec. 17.
Are you one of the 1,300 people who have signed up to receive mobile alerts from TRU Alert? This is part of TRU’s Emergency Notification System which will alert you in the event of a major emergency on campus.
It is extremely important that you sign up to receive these alerts as they will provide you with timely information on what is happening, where it is happening, and what you need to do to stay safe.
How to sign up
But to receive the messages you need to sign up at www.tru.ca/alerts. You can also sign up family members in order to keep them informed if a situation occurs.
You will only receive urgent messages, no junk mail, with the exception of regular testing of the system.
System test on Dec. 17
We will be running a test of the system on December 17 at 11am. You will receive alerts via whatever means you signed up for – email, text, or voice mail, followed by an ‘All Clear’ message once the test is done.
Problems signing up?
If you have any problems with the sign up process, or experience any technical issues during the test, please send an email to safetymanager@tru.ca.
I thank you for your participation in this very important endeavour to maintain the safety of the TRU Community.
