He covered a variety of topics during his presentation and among them, giving your staff the freedom to make decisions, learning from mistakes, achieving a work-life balance, and the value of working in different industries and with different organizations.

Thompson Rivers University School of Business and Economics (SoBE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Graydon, President and CEO of BCLC to its Advisory Board.

As one of the founding members of the newly formed Advisory Board, Graydon sets the tone for its composition, which will bring together exceptional management and entrepreneurial professionals chosen for their experience and expertise in leading businesses or public and nonprofit organizations.

“We are extremely honoured and pleased that Michael Graydon has agreed to serve on the School of Business and Economics Advisory Board,” said Dr. Russell Currie, Dean TRU School of Business and Economics. “Michael’s experience and business connections throughout the country and world will help create opportunities for our students’ education and our faculty’s research.”

As the President and CEO of BCLC, an innovative gambling entertainment company that oversees casino, lottery, and online gambling in B.C. on behalf of the Government of British Columbia, Graydon is well suited for his new role on the SoBE Advisory Board.

He attended the University of Western Ontario with a focus on Political Science and attended INSEAD, the world’s leading graduate business school located in Paris, France where the curriculum focused on Business Management and Leadership.

In 2005, Graydon was invited to participate in the Ivey School of Business Quantum Shift program that brought 40 of Canada’s top entrepreneurial CEOs together in an intensive business leadership development program.

“TRU and BCLC’s operations are similar in that both organizations are grounded in the Kamloops community, but have a scope that reaches far beyond the local level,” said Graydon. “I am pleased to be able to contribute to TRU through my role on the Advisory Board.”
