Thompson Rivers University awarded its 40,000 credential during Friday’s Fall Convocation Ceremony.

Josephine Gambaretto, graduating from the Bachelor of Social Work program, received a commemorative certificate from Dr. Roger Barnsley, President and Vice-chancellor and his successor, Dr. Alan Shaver.

Other highlights of the Friday, October 8, 2 pm ceremony included the honorary degree conferred upon the Honourable Madam Justice Daphne Smith and the designation of President Emeritus awarded to Dr. Roger Barnsley. Brad French, Bachelor of Science Nursing was the valedictorian.

Approximately 130 from all faculties and schools will cross the stage to receive certificates, diplomas and bachelor and master degrees. This year TRU celebrated its 40th year as a post-secondary institution, opening its doors as Cariboo College in September 1970.
