TRU presents a workshop called “Aboriginal Peoples and Canadian Settler Society: Current Realities, Historical Context, and Considerations for moving Forward”.
This event to be facilitated by nursing scholar Lisa Perley-Dutcher and historian Dr. Stephen Dutcher.
Some questions to be discussed:
What are the dimensions of power within Aboriginal Canadian relations and how does this affect some of the current realities facing Aboriginals?
How has the past helped to create these present realities?
What can university educators do in providing support for Aboriginal students by means of understanding their culture?
