KAMLOOPS – A three-country European tour will expose TRU volleyball players to coaches and managers in the professional leagues of Europe, says WolfPack head coach Patrick Hennelly, who, together with first assistant coach Chad Grimm, who coached and played professionally in Europe, will take his full team on a 18 day tour of volleyball clubs in Belgium, Denmark and Germany from Aug. 26 to Sept. 5 this year.
“It is the goal of the WolfPack men’s volleyball program to embark on an international tour every four years, with this being the first international trip the program has taken,” explained Hennelly, who added, “This trip is solely funded by the generous (adopt an athlete) donors to our program and our team fundraising efforts.”
The three countries were selected through Grimm’s connections. Cities and clubs the team will visit include Mont St Guibert (club and city) in Belgium, Odense, Marienlyst (club), Middelfart (club and city) and Arhus (club and city) in Denmark, and Wuppertal (city) SV Bayern-Wuppertal (club) in Germany.
