School's not out for UCC Alumni Association

April 8, 2004

KAMLOOPS-Classes may be ending for most of UCC’s students, but the busy season is just beginning for the UCC Alumni Association.

The organization, made up of past UCC students, plays a major role in UCC’s Convocation Ceremonies when pomp, ceremony and hard-earned degrees, diplomas and certificates transform students into alumni, but there’s a lot
of fundraising to be done between semester’s end and the June celebration.

The association will hold a Garage Sale at the corner of Summit Drive and McGill Road on Saturday, April 24th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be free admission, and a concession on site. People who would like to book a
table or donate items may call the Alumni Association at 371-5711.

Another UCC Alumni fundraiser to mark on the calendar is the 11th Annual Pineridge Charity Golf Tournament, to be held Friday, May 14th starting at 4:00 pm at the Pineridge Golf Course in Dallas. Teams of three play best ball in this shotgun-start event. $60 each includes 18 holes of gold, a great barbecue dinner, a $35 tax receipt and prizes: for the best and worst golf, and best golf outfit.

To register, call 573-4333, and for more information, call Heather at 371-5711.
