Women's Wellness

October 18, 2005

Women’s well-being deserves a day of its own, says TRU Wellness Centre coordinator Chelsea Corsi, so this November she and a couple of 4th-year Nursing students are presenting TRU’s first Women’s Wellness Fair.

“The purpose of the Wellness Fair is to promote the health of women to the students and employees of TRU,” explained Corsi. “The fair will demonstrate a holistic view of health by welcoming representatives from all areas of wellness including those focused on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.”

The TRU Wellness Centre, is inviting local agencies and wellness practitioners to set up booths at the fair, which will be held in Student Street, located in TRU’s Old Main building, from 10:30am until 1:30pm on November 9th.

“It’s intended to be a campus-community endeavour to help educate people about health issues pertinent to women, healthy lifestyle choices, as well as to promote the use of local resources,” said Corsi.
