Ruth Williams, a TRU honorary doctorate recipient, is one of 31 people receiving the Order of B.C. She was born in Big Bar Creek, is a founding member of the first Urban Native Housing Society, which has 103 affordable and safe housing units in Kamloops and 94 within the Thompson-Okanagan and Kootenay regions.
