Eleven Thompson Rivers University (TRU) students in the Women in Trades Exploratory Program – which teaches skills in carpentry, mechanical, electrical and welding – rolled up their sleeves and got to work at the 108 Mile Heritage Site this summer. “It’s a great opportunity for women in the community to learn something new and hopefully in the end obtain their red seals,” said Marie Weisbeck, community coordinator for TRU Community Education and Workforce Training in the School of Trades and Technology.
