Summary
My research integrates nanotechnology, materials science, and environmental sustainability to develop practical solutions for electronics, environmental monitoring, and clean technologies. I focus on detecting and mitigating microplastics in municipal waste and compost using spectroscopic and physical characterization methods, in collaboration with community partners. I also work with researchers at UVic to develop sustainable materials and sensing technologies, including low-cost nanoink-printed gas sensors for workplace safety. I am also committed to integrating research into undergraduate education through student-led projects in quantum materials, energy systems, sustainable technologies, and AI-enabled physics learning tools.
