Summary
My research broadly focuses on social, human, institutional, and policy dimensions of environmental risks, hazards, and disasters and natural resources management both in the Global South and North. I'm particularly interested in resilience and adaptive capacity of communities to natural hazards (wildfires, floods, and cyclones) and how such capacity is shaped by processes at multiple scales (e.g., spatial, temporal, and functional), levels (e.g., individual, community, and institution).

Summary
Dr. Mahed Choudhury is an Assistant Professor in Wildfire Studies. His research broadly focuses on the social, cultural, institutional, and policy dimensions of environmental risks, hazards, and disasters, including wildfires. His ongoing research includes equitable and inclusive wildfire evacuation and re-entry in BC and Alberta, transformative learning in reducing wildfire risks and building resilience in BC, and structural determinants of health and climate injustice among youths in Alberta.
