To kick off the month of December, Joe O’Dwyer (standing) and Tony Costantino of Facilities assemble the frame for an outdoor skating rink located outside of Old Main.

Last year’s attempt to provide a frozen pond — the first in recent memory — was thwarted by unusually warm temperatures.

This year looks to be more promising. Weather forecasts show a short-term increase in temperature and then back to lows towards Christmas. With luck we will have a beautiful white Christmas and a lovely ice rink to come back to from the holidays.
