Dr. Rob Higgins is an internationally renowned expert on ants who is currently conducting research on ticks. He teaches in TRU’s department of biological science.
Among the courses he teaches are: Principles of Biology 1, Principles of Biology 2, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology. His research interests include ecology of ants in sub-boreal forests and the management of post-harvest coarse woody debris.
He has in-depth knowledge of the European fire ant, an aggressive invasive species being found throughout the Lower Mainland with a nasty sting.
