survey2This term selected students  are being asked to participate in one or more surveys.  The invitations and reminders for the surveys are being sent to myTRU email accounts.  All of these surveys provide important feedback to TRU which is taken into consideration for changes to improve student experiences.  Please participate in surveys for which your feedback is invited.

NSSE 2014 (National Survey of Student Engagement)
NSSE results provide information on how undergraduates at universities spend their time and what they gain from attending university.  TRU uses their data to identify aspects of the undergraduate experience inside and outside the classroom that can be improved through changes in policies and practices more consistent with good practices in undergraduate education.

Randomly selected first year and fourth year Baccalaureate students were sent email invitations on Feb 24/ 14 to their TRU email account by nsse@nssesurvey.org   Weekly reminders will be sent to non-respondents.  Students who complete the survey will be entered into a draw for one of 3 cash prizes of $600, $300, or $200.

If you have any questions about NSSE at Thompson Rivers University or how we plan to use the results, please contact Linda Kupp, Institutional Planning & Analysis, at lkupp@tru.ca or 250-377-6154.

Course Evaluations Pilot (Winter 2014)

TRU is continuing a pilot project in the Faculty of Science; the Faculty of Adventure, Culinary Arts and Tourism; and the School of Business and Economics to test different ways of surveying students about the courses they take.  The on-line course evaluation survey is one of the options we are testing.  Your input will be used to create a set of course evaluation questions that will help us improve your learning experience at TRU and to recognize great teaching.

If you are taking Science or FACT or SoBE courses that are participating in the pilot, you will receive email invitations from Christine Adam, Dean of Students, in late March.
