There is nothing like home…After an amazing experience in Toronto, Ontario Enactus Thompson Rivers is back in Kamloops. This past week, we were honoured to share our journey with all the other Enactus Teams across the country. We competed against 51 other institutions, highlighted our efforts and walked away very proud to be from Thompson Rivers University.

This National Exposition our team was awarded:
– 2013 Enactus Canada Semi-Finalist (Top 16)
– 2013 Campbell’s Help Hunger Disappear – National Runner Up (46,027 items raised for our local food banks)
– John Dobson Rookie Faculty of the Year Inductee – Bernie Kirkey
– Most Supportive Business Advisory Board Member of the Year – Lisa White
– Recipient of the Founders Bursary – Acacia Schmietenknop

This past year, we have:
– Had our 93 members put in 14,661 volunteer hours
– Raised 46,027 pounds of food for our local food banks
– Worked with 81 partnering organizations
– Had 11 sponsoring organizations
– Ran 6 programs, directly impacting 493 individuals

These results are a culmination of your support, effort, and dedication to our team. It is through our strong partnerships that we are able to be one of the top teams in Canada as your support aids us in raising the quality of life and standard of living for people in Kamloops.

As my term as President comes to an end, I am very proud to say I was a part of this team. You have all showed me that like-minded individuals can make a difference and I wish nothing but success for the upcoming team.

On behalf of everyone on Enactus Thompson Rivers this year we thank all Partners, Sponsors, Business Advisory Board Members, Faculty Advisors, and most importantly our 93 members. Without all your hard work and dedication this year we would have not been able to achieve the level of success that this organization had this past year!

THANK YOU!

Mitesh Patel
Outgoing President,

“The goal when you enter an Enactus year is to leave the team better than it started…and we did that” – Brandon Dhillon, Outgoing Director of Balance.
